Breweries in Madison, WI: taprooms and brewpubs around the city
Wisconsin has been brewing since the 1840s, and Madison keeps the tradition going with brewpubs, neighborhood taprooms and one of the country's longest-running beer festivals. Here's where to drink local, with each brewery's own description of what's on tap and whether there's food. Every place below was confirmed open on its own site in November 2026; recent closures, like Delta Beer Lab in October, are left out.

The Great Taste of the Midwest
Every August, the Madison Homebrewers and Tasters Guild puts on the Great Taste of the Midwest at Olin Park on Lake Monona, with about 200 breweries pouring roughly 1,400 beers. It's run entirely by volunteers and calls itself the second-longest-running craft beer festival in North America. The next one is Saturday, August 14, 2027; tickets are famously hard to get, so watch greattaste.org.
