About

Music Hall is a Victorian Gothic building on Bascom Hill, designed by David R. Jones and dedicated in 1880 as Assembly Hall before being renamed in 1910; its tower clock once set the time for Madison. Today its roughly 370-seat proscenium theater, renovated in 1985, is home to University Opera and hosts solo and chamber performances for the Mead Witter School of Music.
