Ask whether sidewalks and steps are included, whether they salt, and how quickly they'll arrive after a storm. Madison requires property owners to clear public sidewalks by noon the day after snow stops falling, so make sure your contract covers yours.
Sign up before the first snow. Good providers fill their routes in the fall.
