River Paws
Pet groomer · Based in Waunakee
About
Also known as Yahara River Paws, this locally owned business has worked with dogs since 2017. Its groomers handle baths, full grooms, breed-specific cuts, nail trims and puppy grooming, and it leads off-leash and private-trail hikes for groups of up to six dogs with pickup and dropoff. Senior dogs can get gentler grooming and slower walks.

Choosing a pet groomer in Madison
Groomers range from full-service salons to mobile vans that come to your driveway. Ask what's included (bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, haircut), how they handle anxious or senior pets, and whether pets are hand-dried or cage-dried.

Groomers commonly ask for proof of a current rabies vaccination, which Wisconsin law requires for dogs by 5 months of age, so keep your records handy and ask about any other vaccines they require when you book.
Book early before the holidays, and ask how often your pet's breed and coat should be groomed to keep mats away.
