Choosing a music teacher in Madison
Ask about the teacher's background with students at your level and age; teaching a 6-year-old beginner is a different skill from coaching an adult or a student preparing for auditions. Many teachers offer a trial lesson.

Ask whether lessons are in a studio, at your home or online, how long each lesson runs, and whether you pay by the lesson, month or semester. Check the policy for missed lessons and make-ups before you commit.
If your child is in school band or orchestra, ask whether the teacher works on that music and on solo and ensemble pieces too.
