Choosing an auto body shop in Madison
After an accident, your insurer may suggest shops in its network, but Wisconsin law gives you the right to choose where your car is repaired; an insurer can recommend a shop but can't require one. Get an estimate from a shop you trust and let it work with the adjuster.

Ask whether the shop uses original-manufacturer (OEM) or aftermarket parts, how it matches paint, and what warranty it offers on the work. Newer cars with driver-assistance sensors often need recalibration after bodywork; ask whether that's included.
Look for shops with manufacturer or industry certifications for your make, and photos of their recent work.
